If your company or business is bankrupt or insolvent you can be said to be facing liquidation or possibly winding-up and will be placed in to administration under the protection of the court. A licenced insolvency practitioner or receiver will oversee the administration process and the first objective will be to save the company or business as a going concern for the greatest benefit of the creditors. If the company cannot be rescued then any assets including property and land that may be owned by it will be sold in a winding-up process that will favor payment to secured or preferential creditors.
